Balance and Vestibular Programs

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT)

According to the Mayo Clinic, among adults over age 65, up to 30 percent experience dizziness. Our Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is focused on treating dizziness, vertigo, balance and visual problems related to dysfunction of the vestibular system or central nervous system which can cause dizziness during everyday activities.

Specific exercises are used to increase the brain's ability to interpret the input from the inner ear in order to improve your function and resolve your symptoms.  Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo and can be easily treated through a series of maneuvers guided by your therapist.

Balance Training Program

This program is individually designed for people who are having difficulty navigating their usual environments, have a history of falls or who are more cautious about moving due to balance difficulties.

Gait and Balance problems can be the result of a variety of medical conditions from concussions or stroke to progressive neurological diseases.  It can also be due to the aging process, arthritis or musculoskeletal issues and most gait and balance disorders involve multiple contributing factors.

Fall Prevention and Osteoporosis Program

Preventing falls is absolutely critical and our #1 goal for this program.  According to the CDC, Every second of every day, an older adult (age 65+) suffers a fall in the U.S. - making falls the leading cause of injury and injury related death in this age group.

Our program is an evidence-based exercise program designed to help stop bone loss and improve balance function. Falls CAN be preventable and do not have to be an inevitable part of aging.  Our program can help maximize your function/mobility and prevent falls.
